Development of MCSOF, a cost optimized method for large remediation and clearance projects.
The development of MCSOF is a collaboration between the independent senior experts Robert Meck and Steve Adams and Jonatan Jiselmark at Greenfield Strategies AB.
The method is designed for:
- showing compliance with clearance criteria for sites,
- planning the remediation and characterization work and
- cost minimizing remediation and clearance projects.
In the figure is a dose scenario for a clearance project analysed with MCSOF. The figure is showing compliance with clearance criteria including all known uncertainties, without being conservative.

The global nuclear decommissioning market is large, as is the need for a method like MCSOF. Greenfield Strategies AB is a small company, even including partners. MCSOF is a very effective method and should be accessible for everyone to use. We are happy to provide training in the methods but do not have the capacity to assist more than a few with implementation at the same time.
